The importance of health and wellness was instilled in me from a young age; my parents encouraged me to play sports, eat my vegetables, limit the amount of junk "food" in my diet, and most importantly, listen to my body.
As I got older, went to college, and started my first career in Corporate America, healthy eating and exercise were still priorities in my life, but as I took on more responsibility, my stress levels continued to increase and I began to lose sight of my wellbeing. I was stressed. All the time. Whether it was my challenging corporate finance career, dating, going out with friends, traveling, volunteering, or keeping up on social media, life was busy and the stress was real. My weight fluctuated constantly; my sleep, focus, mood, motivation and energy all were negatively impacted.
I realized the stress was manifesting in these ways to let me know that I felt overwhelmed and unfulfilled. My body was telling me something needed to change.
A series of wake up calls drove me to pause and take charge of my life. I would stop placing blame. I would stop dwelling on the why and how and I would set out on a journey to discover my authentic version of healthy living and success; that meant listening to all aspects of my body including my heart, mind and soul. I would respect what my body told me. I knew this would be difficult and, at times, scary. With the help of supportive friends, family, journaling, networking and talk therapy, I confronted my fears, learned the value of living in the moment, perspective and vulnerability, among many others. I eventually changed my mindset and transformed my life.
Saying goodbye to corporate finance in hope of finding a more meaningful career was one of the most pivotal steps on my journey. I realized I craved creative freedom, flexibility, the opportunity to start my own business. I wanted to help people (re)discover their own authentic selves and ultimately live happier, healthier, more fulfilling lives.
Here I am today more energized than ever to help you on your journey to feeling your best! No problem is too big or too small to conquer together. Life is a gift; let's live it to the fullest.
