Do you Need a Vacation?

Hi my loves,

I hope you are having a fantastic week! I’m on an East Coast adventure for the next several days – Stan is back in Chicago meeting tons of new doggie friends with his dog walker, Tania. I'm currently on the train to NYC from DC, after have a blast with my college bestie, her hubs, new baby (aka one of the happiest, cutest little creatures I’ve ever met) and can’t forget their two sweet, energetic pups!

I thought it would be a perfect time chat about vacation and the importance of it. Do you need a vacation? When’s the last time you took one? Do you constantly feel like you need a vacation? What would your perfect vacation look like right now? Beach? Mountains? City? Overseas travel? Would it be active? Relaxing? Maybe a staycation? What’s something you’ve really been wanting to do, but haven’t had the time or money to plan it?

For me, I no longer look at vacation as a luxury, but a necessity (and vacation does not have to be extravagant to drive gobs of benefits!). I can’t be the person or coach I want to be without vacation and the same goes for you, your career and life. In order to thrive, recharge, stay relevant, gain perspective, meet new people, among many others, we need to take breaks from our daily routines, no matter how much we love (or hate) them.

I'm about to embark on a new adventure called Camp Good Life Project (GLP), an experience based on a podcast I LOVE and am inspired by. I am super pumped for 3.5 days of new friends, yoga, meditation, fresh air, swimming, nerding out over personal and professional development workshops, s’mores around the campfire and who knows what else!? To some of you, this may not sound like a vacation, but I know this is exactly what I need right now.

That being said, take a few minutes to think about YOUR perfect vacation. What does it look like? How much will it cost? Who's there with you? Maybe it's time for a solo vacation to meet new people? How are you going to make it happen? Do you need to start a separate savings account for it? Do you need to ask for the time off? Whatever it may be holding you back, make it happen! You deserve it.

Now it's time to turn off the laptop and have some fun in the sun, almost to NY!

Talk soon!
